Eine Zoom-Performance über transnationale Leihmutterschaft

Der unerfüllte Kinderwunsch treibt Paare aus Deutschland und der Schweiz ins Ausland. In Indien, den USA und der Ukraine beauftragen sie Leihmütter, ein Kind für sie auszutragen. Die Wunscheltern umgehen dabei rechtliche Grenzen und betreten moralisches Neuland. Flinn Works hat in allen fünf Ländern recherchiert, um der transnationalen Leihmutterschaft auf den Grund zu gehen: Ist sie ein Segen der Medizin oder Kolonialisierung der Körper? Ist das Austragen eines fremden Kindes Arbeit oder Nächstenliebe? Wie hoch wird diese „Liebesarbeit“ bezahlt? Seit Leihmutterschaft in Ländern wie Indien und Thailand verboten ist, werden Eizellen, Embryonen und Leihmütter durch die ganze Welt geflogen. Denn wo medizinische Möglichkeiten auf Kinderwünsche treffen, finden Kinder einen Weg in die Welt. Sie existieren und brauchen jetzt einen Pass. Aber welchen? Der boomende Wirtschaftszweig wird in seiner ethischen Komplexität und emotionalen Polarisierung, seinen rechtlichen Grauzonen und medizinischen Realitäten in eine Zoom-Session gebracht. Professionelle Agenturchefinnen treffen auf zufriedene Leihmütter und streitende Feminist*innen auf liebevolle Wunschväter. Global Belly_Zoom porträtiert Menschen im Leihmutterschafts-Geschäft zwischen grenzenloser Sehnsucht, fein justierter Intimität, heißen Debatten und der kühlen Logik des Marktes.
